Why Hire a Homes of Hope Graduate?

A graduate of our program has spent at least 19 months in sobriety (7 months addiction rehab, 12 months at Homes of Hope). He's also received 500 hours of spiritual discipleship, and 180 days of on-the-job construction training coupled with nearly 200 classroom hours. He's been tested and certified in WorkKeys, a job skill assessment system that helps employers select high-performance candidates. And in some cases, a man may have also received outside training in GED completion, literacy, or other suitable programs that fit his needs.

Local companies are taking note of the quality of our graduates. We've had great success partnering with businesses within an Upstate electrical collaborative who want to hire our men. Walker and Whiteside Electrical Contractors, Hayes and Lunsford and Carolina Power are three businesses who currently employ one or more of our recent graduates.

We encourage companies like these and others to take advantage of the tax benefits of hiring our graduates. Thanks to the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program employers who hire our Men's Development graduates can earn a 40% tax credit on an employee's first year of wages. There is no limit on the number of qualified new hires businesses can claim. The organization can receive a $2,400 to $9,600 credit for each eligible employee. Our men have a lot to offer by means of experience, specialized training, certifications, and tax advantages. 

Employers are finding that our men are motivated and excited to work. We continue to receive outstanding feedback from companies who've hired our graduates. More than once our men have quickly found promotion and raises based on attitude and performance. We welcome other interested companies who are ready to put our men to work!
