Barking up a new tree: Carpentry training for Homes of Hope interns

In a recent post we shared about the increased job training that the interns in our program for men overcoming addictions are receiving at Homes of Hope. They are in a time of focused training for various construction-related skills as we prepare to launch LoCAL Housing, which will be built in part by our men.

Currently our interns are learning carpentry skills as they construct another type of home, this time for a smaller, furrier creature. Check out the dog houses they’ve made this week! We’re proud to see our interns grow in skill and confidence as they continue to increase their construction abilities.

We’re exploring the different possibilities of what to do with our finished dog houses.
